Installing your VARMYRA address sign
What's in the box
- Your personalized address sign
- Stainless steel standoff mounts and screws (wall plugs included for masonry)
- If you ordered the lit version: pre-installed LED lighting, 12V power adapter, and low-voltage cable
- A printed copy of this guide
Mounting your sign (about 15 minutes)
- Hold the sign against the wall where you want it and mark the mounting holes with a pencil. Use a level to keep it straight.
- Drill the marked holes. For brick or stone, use a masonry bit and the included wall plugs. For wood siding or studs, the screws go in directly.
- Screw the standoff bases into the wall.
- Place the sign over the standoffs and tighten the standoff caps by hand. Don't overtighten — snug is enough.
If you ordered the lit version
Your sign arrives with the LED lighting already installed behind the front panel — there's nothing to assemble.
- Your sign runs on safe low voltage (12V), the same as a doorbell. The part that plugs into the wall — the power adapter — is not waterproof, so it stays indoors.
- Plug the adapter into any indoor outlet (a hallway, garage, or entry closet socket is perfect).
- Run the thin low-voltage cable from the adapter to the sign. It can follow baseboards and trim, pass through the gap in door weatherstripping, or through a small drilled hole. Keep the cable tucked along edges so it stays out of sight.
- Connect the cable to the sign's lead wire, switch on, and enjoy the glow.
Colours: Warm White (3000K) is a soft, cozy glow. Natural White (4000K) is clean and neutral. Cool White (6000K) is bright and crisp.
Want a new outdoor outlet instead? If you'd prefer an outlet installed near your door for the cleanest setup, please have that done by a licensed electrician. The sign itself is low-voltage and safe to install yourself — only new house wiring needs a pro.
Good to know:
- The LED strip is outdoor-rated and sealed; all outdoor connections on your sign are weatherproofed at our studio.
- Heat is not a concern — the LEDs run only slightly warm and are completely safe on acrylic.
- A plug-in timer or dusk-to-dawn sensor (available at any hardware store) can switch your sign on at sunset automatically.
Care
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh solvents on acrylic. Your sign is made for Canadian weather — snow, rain, and freeze-thaw included.
